  1. JOB DESCRIPTION
    • TITLE: Junior Accounting Associate
    • REPORTS TO: CFO
    • FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
  2. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE The Junior Accounting Associate is responsible for sales orders, inventory, invoice posting, Accounts Receivable collections, filing, and other general accounting functions. This position is backup for the Accounting Associate.
  3. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/ DUTIES: ACCOUNTS PAYABLE
    • Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies as they arise.
    • Investigate and resolve short ships and debit memos.
    • Enter information into the accounting system.
    • Customer collections.
    • Maintenance of invoice attachments and aging schedules..
    • Help with inventory and item updating and monthly physical counts. OTHER: :
      1. Prepare reports as needed
      2. Reception relief as needed
  4. BUSINESS COMMUNICATION
    • Communication with the CFO is frequent.
    • Communications with Business Division and office staff is ongoing.
    • Communication with suppliers and other business related contacts is regular.
    • Communication with visually/multiple impaired employees is frequent.
  5. SUPERVISION REQUIRED The position requires the ability to work independently and in close coordination with the CFO.
  6. REQUIREMENTS
    • The position requires an Associates degree in Accounting.
    • Organizational and communication skills as required to deal directly with senior management, customers, and vendors.
    • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to handle confidential material.
    • Ability to prioritize.
  7. TRAINING AND SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED Working knowledge of Windows based computer system, MS Office applications including Excel. Familiarity with Sage accounting system would be helpful.
  8. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED A minimum of two years’ related experience is desired.
