Justin Timberlake returned to Saturday Night Live this week, but he wasn't the only familiar face making a comeback. The show also featured cameos from Alec Baldwin, Steve Martin, Tom Hanks, Dan Aykroyd, Paul Simon, Chevy Chase, Martin Short, recently departed cast member Andy Samberg, and Bill Hader's "Weekend Update" character, Stefon. Here are some of the best moments from the show:
The Five-Timers Club: "In case you don't know, this is the most exclusive club in New York," Timberlake said in his opening monologue upon joining the "Five Timers' Club" during his fifth stint hosting SNL. Fortunately he has SNL vet Steve Martin to show him around, and Alec Baldwin to explain that one of the favorite pastimes for the Five Timers is making the other cast members fight each other, Django Unchained-style.
"It's a Date": It wasn't a digital short, but Timberlake and Samberg revisited their "D--- in a Box" and "Mother Lover" characters for the "It's a Date" sketch, appearing as a singing duo of bachelors on a dating show — alongside Akroyd and Martin revisiting their legendary "Two Wild and Crazy Guys" characters. Poor Bobby Moynihan's character doesn't stand a chance.
"Weekend Update": Stefon's back! Apparently his long hiatus was because he took a writing job on Smash (makes sense). Watch him offer tips for Spring Break visitors to the city, including a club located in a burned-down Red Lobster and another one "based on the novel Push by Sapphire."
Moet & Chandon: In this we-can't-really-explain-why-it's-funny-but-it-is sketch, a mustachioed Timberlake plays a "feminist porn" star filming a commercial for champagne with ditsy former porn stars played by Vanessa Bayer and Cecily Strong. We particularly enjoy their impersonation of bubbles.
What were your favorite sketches from the night?
